Margaret Templeton Scholarship

The Scholarship was established in 2005 from the estate of Margaret Templeton, a long term Queenstown resident. It was Margaret’s wish to support students in the Whakatipu area, who for financial reasons would find it difficult to pursue tertiary education.
An active member of the local community and known for her tenacity and sense of purpose, Margaret was a pioneer in both the local environmental society and the historical society. She was made a life member of both groups to acknowledge her work over many years.
The grant provides $5000 per annum for three years. Applicants must be resident in the Whakatipu area. It is usual for up to four scholarships to be awarded each year.
